Organic Cotton Fabric
Organic cotton fabric is mainly used for organic cotton clothing like organic cotton baby clothing and organic cotton t-shirts. Keep chemicals away and use organic cotton sheets, organic cotton bedding, organic cotton blankets and organic cotton underwear.
The ‘all natural’ image of cotton is very misleading, since cotton production uses billions of pounds of harmful chemicals each year – second only to corn. According to the EPA, the pesticides used to grow cotton are some of the most deadly.
Once the cotton is grown, textile production and finishing uses an array of toxic and cancer-causing chemicals including arsenic, formaldehyde and heavy-metal dyes.
These chemicals make their way back into our food chain; through the cottonseed that is used to feed dairy and beef cattle, through cottonseed oil commonly used in snack foods, and into the groundwater many rely on for drinking.
Our organic cotton woven fabric & sheets use only certified organic cotton and no harmful chemicals. For example, gentle hydrogen-peroxide is used for whitening, and low-impact dyes are used for colors, so there is no toxic waste from the manufacturing process.
